Galeri Petronas introduces the first World Eco-Fibre and Textile Art exhibition, which brings art and socio-ecological concerns together in a vibrant display.
With over 350 exhibits from 35 countries, the display is one of the gallery's largest undertakings. The sheer scope of works from around the world also demonstrates the importance of eco-fibre and textiles across cultures and societies. By focussing on the artistic value found in traditional textile works such as weaving, hand-dyeing and
traditional embroidery, the exhibition seeks to raise the profile of local cultures.
Bai Lou was invited to showcase in their section 'Contemporary Expressions'. Seven woven pieces were displayed in this exhibition.
Bai Lou showcased its various forms of contemporary textiles with the traditional weaving technique as jamdani, double cloth, warp print.
